Major General Sheikh Pasha Habib Uddin, OSP, SGP, BAMS, afwc, psc is Director General of Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS). Prior to joining BIISS, he was the Senior Directing Staff (Army) at National Defence College, Mirpur Cantonment. He was commissioned in Bangladesh Army on 26th June 1987. He achieved his BSc degree from Chittagong University, MBA degree from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, Masters in Defense Studies (MDS) and Masters in War Studies (MWS) from National University. He is also a graduate of Defense Services Command and Staff College and National Defense College, Mirpur. He has completed the ‘Civil Military Response to Terrorism’ course at Naval Post Graduate School, California, USA in 2006. He has participated in the 10th SAARC Conference on Terrorism in 2012 in New Delhi, India and ‘Strategic Leadership’ program conducted by the UK Defense Academy in 2017. He has participated in a Roundtable on “Global and Regional Geopolitical Landscape and Myanmar”, organized by International Studies Center (ISC), Thailand held on 12-13 March 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand. In his illustrious professional career, Major General Pasha has performed various important duties in different capacities at home and abroad. He Commanded Bangladesh Ansar & VDP as Director General. He was the Defense Adviser at the Bangladesh High Commission in the UK. In UN Missions, he has also served as military observer in Western Sahara and as Contingent Commander of the 750-member Mechanized Infantry Contingent in Ivory Coast.
